Biting bugs are not only irritating, they can also carry a number of serious contagious diseases including malaria, yellow fever and dengue fever amongst others. Scientific research has shown that some types of (malaria) mosquito prefer to bite on the feet, ankles and lower leg. Protection of the feet is therefore essential, and Care Plus Bugsox offer this protection.

Bugsox, with their Healthguard impregnation, will also provide protection against tick bites. Ticks are spider-like insects that attach themselves with their mouth to the skin of the host and then feed on the host's blood. In addition to the pain, inconvenience and risk of infection, ticks can be infected with the lyme-borreliosis disease, and can transmit this disease during the blood-sucking activity, leading to disastrous consequences. Scientific research has indicated that the number of infected ticks in northern Europe continues to grow and so bugsocks become an ever more important precaution.

The Care Plus® Bugsox are impregnated with "HealthGuard Vital Protection", a revolutionary insect-resistant product with prolonged effect that prevents annoying, itching  bites and even prevents serious illnesses. "Healthguard Vital Protection" doesn't irritate and it is biologically degradable so wearing bugsocks shouldn't adversely affect your feet. It also protects the treated products against bacteria, and in doing so prevents odours, discolouring and degrading: making Bugsox more durable than normal socks.
